Startup Teen is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurial education and assisting teens with mentorship and resources needed to see their ideas grow. Startup Teen was founded in 2013 after Taylor Chavez attended her first Startup Weekend Event in June 2013. In November 2013, a team of young entrepreneurs joined Taylor to organize the first teen focused Startup Weekend event held worldwide. Since then Startup Teen has helped organize 5 Teen Startup Weekends and numerous bootcamps, meets ups and summer programs for teens and high school students.
After 2018 Startup Teen stopped organizing events and education. It has been a wonderful journey and there are so many people to thank who made these events possible including but not limited to individuals like, Thomas Abeyta, Shelby Rashap, (members of the first organizing group), Lisa Abeyta, Marisa Gay, Russell Combs, Gary Oppedahl, Lisa Atkins, Stacy Sacco, Lexi Palmer, Matthew Ayoub, Eric Renz Whitmore, Julia Jones and T.J. Cook and organization of ABQid, the City of Albuquerque a special call out to Bosque School for their hard work and resources during these years. We apologize if anyone was left out.
